Come spend your Wednesdays with us at the Daly House! We have some cool and fun days planned so that you and your child can come peer through the looking glass and experience early 20th Century Brandon Manitoba!

Our Schedule

July 6 – Canada’s 150th – Come learn about how Brandon became what it is today! Learn about people like Thomas Mayne Daly, the original owner of Daly House.

July 13 – Behind the Scenes – Come be a curator for the day and learn how the museum works!

July 20 – Children in the Victorian Era – Come live like children during the Victorian Era! Learn how to embroider with members of the Brandon Embroiders Guild. This one is a joint day with Heritage Day so come both days for extra fun!

July 27 – Heritage Day – Have fun learning about heritage crafts and make your own embroidered craft to take home! Make your own Coat of Arms too!

August 3 – Technology: Then and Now – See how technology has changed since the Victorian Era. Come play some games like Crokinole and learn about the art of shadow puppets! Make a kaleidoscope and play telephone!

August 10 – Sherlock Holmes – Come do a scavenger hunt in the Daly House! We’ll make magnifying glasses and hunt down clues to find artifacts!

August 17 – Garden Party – Come for a tea party and learn all about proper etiquette. We’ll make pressed flowers and suncatchers!

August 24 – Pioneer Day – Play “Will you Survive?”, bean bag toss, and learn how to write with quills. Bonus points for the kids that come dressed up with their lunch in a pail!

August 31 – Pioneer School – We know that school’s coming back, but why not kick it off with seeing how school was like in the pioneer days? Come dressed up for extra fun!

Book as soon as you can to guarantee your spots! It’ll be a blast from the past! Hope to see you there!

Enjoy a delicious roast beef and perogies dinner and discover a little known fact about the City of Brandon.  Daly House Museum’s Annual Dinner will be held at the Ukrainian Reading Association Hall at 1005 Assiniboine Avenue (10th Street North) on Thursday, March 13. Dinner will be at 6 PM followed by a special presentation by Shaun Cameron featuring the film “End of the Line: The Brandon Railway Company.” After the film Shaun and Bob Booth will answer questions about Brandon’s old streetcar system. Audience members are invited to share their memories as well.

During dinner you will have a chance to play our trivia game and take part in a 50-50 draw. All proceeds will go towards Museum projects such as special exhibits. As members, you are cordially invited to stay after the
presentation for our Annual General Meeting. If you’ve attended dinner at the Hall before, you know that the food is exceptional – traditional home cooking. Tickets are only $22.50 and must be purchased in advance from the Museum.

If you haven’t already got your tickets to this event, just think about those mouthwatering perogies.   When the Museum is closed on Sunday and Monday, you can still buy tickets by calling Trish at 204-727-3156.

See you on Thursday!
